PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. count and say the number of people in their family.

2. mention each name of people in their family.

3. recite a poem on myself.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

Pictures of pupil’s family members.

  • Note – Get the pictures from pupil’s parent before the lesson. This will facilitate your lesson by enable the pupils to count and say the name each member of their family. Not necessary all members. 

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Place the picture each pupil’s family member for recognition, name and counting.

Pupil’s Response –

  • Recognise each member of his/her family’s members,
  • Identify each his/her family’s members by name, and
  • Count the number of his/her family’s members by name.

 

 

POEM ABOUT MYSELF 

Based teacher’s composition, guide the pupils to recite poem about my family.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Places the picture of each pupil’s family member for recognition, name and counting.

Pupil’s Activities –

  • Recognise each member of his/her family’s members,
  • Identify each his/her family’s members by name, and
  • Count the number of his/her family’s members by name.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
