The pupils can identify leaf as part of a plant.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart showing parts of a plant/Parts of a leaf.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Get fresh uprooted plant with broad leaves for the pupils to identify each leaf on the plant.

Pupil’s Activities – This is a leaf. A leaf is part of a plant.

Teacher’s remark – Correct. Leaves are part of a plant. Leaf also parts. Displays chart showing parts of a plant and helps the pupils identify parts of a leaf.

 

PARTS OF A LEAF 

The main parts of a leaf include:

1. Apex

2. Midrib

3. Vein

4. Stalk/stem

5. Blade or margin

 

LESSON 2 – DRAW AND LABEL PARTS OF A LEAF 

 

 

ASSIGNMENT

Find out the uses of leaves.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Displays chart showing parts of a leaf.

3. Helps them identify and name their parts of a leaf.
