The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart showing a rights and duties of a citizen.

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
MEANING OF RIGHTS
Our rights are those things we should enjoy as citizens of our country.
EXAMPLES OF RIGHTS
1. The right to life and education.
2. The right to personal freedom.
3. The right to fair hearing in court.
4. The right to private family life.
5. The right to adopt a religion, etc.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Guides pupils to state their rights in the family, school and their community;
Pupil’s Activities – Identify their rights as members of a family, school and community.
3. Gives examples of rights.
Pupil’s Activities – Identify each right stated.
CONCLUSION
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
