LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives –

4. adding two whole numbers with sum not more 50.
ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
The pupils can count 1 – 170 correctly and add two whole numbers with sum not more than 20.

PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Teacher uses flashcards and number chart to lead a counting from 1 – 180 with appropriate lesson evaluation.
Pupil’s Activities – Pay attention to the lesson introduction and follow the teacher’s lead to identify and count numbers.
3. Teacher displays number charts showing count in 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s.
Pupil’s Activities – Examine and identify the missing numbers.
4. Teacher uses the number charts to introduce the lesson and guide the children to skip count correctly in 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s.
5. Teacher uses the activities in step 4 to guide pupils to add and count in 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s.
Pupil’s Activities – Follow the teacher’s guides to add and count in 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s.
6. Teacher summarizes the lesson by leading a add and count 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s.
