By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. identify and read correctly the numbers 1 – 170.

2. write correctly the numbers 1 – 170.

3. adding two whole numbers with sum not more 20.

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can count 1 – 100 correctly.

LESSON 5 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT (TEST) 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Teacher gets flashcards number 1 – 50.

3. Teacher picks a flashcard at random for pupils to identify correctly.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify number on each flashcard.

4. Teacher uses the pupil’s responses to introduce the lesson.

5. Teacher leads a counting from 1 – 50, 51 – 100 and 101 – 170 with appropriate lesson evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – Pay attention to the lesson introduction and follow the teacher’s lead to identify and count numbers.

 

6. Teacher guides pupils to add one to a digit number with sum not more than 20.

Pupil’s Activities – Add a digit number to another one digit number.

7. Teacher summarizes the lesson by leading a count number 1 – 170.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in counting number 1 – 170 and write as instructed.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
