LEARNING OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should be able to,

1. open Adobe Photoshop, Use basic Photoshop tools.

2. draw simple objects.

3. apply colors neatly.

4. save their work cor rectly.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can identify and demonstrate the use of each Adobe Photoshop tool.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of functional computer with adobe installation.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION 

Adobe photoshop is a program used to create beautiful images, graphics, paintings, and 3D artwork.

 

STEPS TO DRAW IN ADOBE PHOTOSHOP 

STEP 1. Open Photoshop – Click File → New, Choose a blank white page, then Click Create

STEP 2. Select the Brush Tool – Click the Brush Tool on the Toolbar. Shortcut key: B

STEP 3. Choose Brush Size – At the top menu, select a small or medium brush. This helps you draw neatly

STEP 4. Choose a Color – Click the Foreground Color box, then Pick your preferred color. Click OK

STEP 5. Start Drawing – Click and drag your mouse to draw shapes or pictures

 

STEPS TO COLOR A DRAWING IN ADOBE PHOTOSHOP 

STEP 1. Use the Paint Bucket Tool, Select the Paint Bucket Tool. Shortcut key: G

STEP 2. Select a Color – Choose any color from the color picker

STEP 3. Fill the Drawing – Click inside the area you want to color

 

OTHER HELPFUL TOOLS 

1. Eraser Tool (E): Removes mistakes

2. Zoom Tool (Z): Zoom in and out

3. Move Tool (V): Move drawings or objects

4. Shape Tool (U): Draw ready-made shapes like circles and rectangles

 

SAVING YOUR WORK 

1. Click File → Save As

2. Choose JPEG or PNG

3. Give your work a name

4. Click Save

 

USES OF DRAWING IN PHOTOSHOP 

1. It is uses for making posters.

2. It is used for designing greeting cards.

3. It is used coloring pictures.

4. It is used for creating simple artworks.

 

LESSON 2 – HAND ON ACTIVITIES – DRAW AND COLOR USING ADOBE PHOTOSHOP 

PROJECT TITLE – “My Colorful Drawing Using Adobe Photoshop”

PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS FOR PUPILS 

1. Open Adobe Photoshop

2. Click File → New and create a blank page

3. Use the Brush Tool to draw a simple picture such as: A house, A flower, A car, or A tree

4. Use the Paint Bucket Tool or Brush Tool to add colors

5. Use the Eraser Tool to correct mistakes

6. Add your name and class using the Text Tool

7. Save your work as JPEG or PNG

 

TOOLS TO BE USED – Brush Tool, Paint Bucket Tool, Eraser Tool, Text Tool, or Shape Tool (optional)

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS – Neat drawing, Proper use of colors, Clear shapes, Correct use of tools, Correct file saving

TEACHER’S NOTE – Encourage creativity, Pupils may work individually and Assist pupils where necessary

EXTENSION ACTIVITY (Optional) – Draw and color two objects and Add a background color.

1. Teacher evises the previous lesson based on the pupil’s related knowledge or experience.

2. Teacher organizes the pupils in groups depending on the size of the class.

3. Teacher asks the groups to turn on their computer systems.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils turn on their computer systems.

4. Teacher asks the pupils to search for a file titled – Adobe Photoshop classroom activities.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils search and locate the file titled – Adobe Photoshop classroom activities.

5. Teacher asks the groups to open and discuss the content of the file.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils open the file and get ready for drawing and color objects with Adobe Photoshop.

6. Teacher uses the file and the pupils relevant responses to introduce the lesson and guides them step by step on how to create draw and color using Adobe Photoshop.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the lesson introduction, understand and appreciate the step by step on how to create draw and color using Adobe Photoshop.

7. Teacher leads and guides the groups to draw and color objects in the class using Adobe Photoshop.

8. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board with appropriate evaluation.
