PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. spell and pronounce correctly.

2. use the dictionary meaning of words.

3. write as dictated.

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOR

The pupils can identify and spelling a given word.

 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart showing words.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

5. Imprisonment is the act of putting someone in prison.

6. Convicted is the act of proving that someone is guilty of a crime in a law court.

7. Transmit spread, pass or transfer from one person or place to another.

8. Statistics is the discipline that deals with collection, organization, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data.

9. Liberation is the act of setting someone free from prison, slavery, or oppression.

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Displays chart showing 10 words.

Pupil’s Activities – Scan the words.

3. Leads the pronunciation of the 10 words.

Pupil’s Activities – Listen and repeat after the teacher.

4. Asks pupils to spell and pronounce each word.

Pupil’s Activities – Spell and pronounce each word correctly.

5. Guides pupils to use the dictionary to find the meaning of each words.

Pupil’s Activities – Use the dictionary to find the meaning of each words.

6. Dictate the words.

Pupil’s Activities – Write as dictated.

7. Summarizes the meaning of each word on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Write as instructed.
