WEEK 4 – SPEECH WORK: PRONUNCIATION OF POLYSYLLABIC WORDS
Polysyllabic words are words that have three or more syllables. For example: e-du-CA-tion (4 syllables)
STRESS AND UNSTRESSED SYLLABLES
Stressed syllable: the syllable said louder and longer
Unstressed syllable: the syllable said softly and quickly
In writing, the stressed syllable is often written in CAPITAL letters.
