Dictation for the Week: Bulletin, Dairy, Gazette, Period, Magazine, Community, Press, Paper, Ledger, Review

1. Bulletin

Pronunciation: boo-le-tin

Meaning: A short official news report

Sentence: The school sent out a bulletin to parents.

2. Diary

Pronunciation: dye-a-ree

Meaning: A book for writing daily events

Sentence: I write my activities in my diary every day.

3. Gazette

Pronunciation: ga-zette

Meaning: An official newspaper or publication

Sentence: The news was published in the government gazette.

4. Period

Pronunciation: pee-ree-od

Meaning: A length of time

Sentence: We had a short break period.

5. Magazine

Pronunciation: ma-ga-zeen

Meaning: A book with pictures and stories published regularly

Sentence: She bought a magazine from the shop.

6. Community

Pronunciation: ko-myoo-ni-tee

Meaning: People living in the same area

Sentence: The community worked together to clean the street.

7. Press

Pronunciation: press

Meaning: Newspapers and media organisations

Sentence: The press reported the event.

8. Paper

Meaning: Material used for writing or printing

Sentence: He wrote his homework on paper.

9. Ledger

Meaning: A book for keeping records
