WEEK 5 – STRUCTURE: SIMILES

A simile is a figure of speech that compares two different things using the words “like” or “as.”

Examples of Similes

1. As brave as a lion

2. As busy as a bee

3. As white as snow

4. Like a fish in water

5. As fast as lightning

6. As gentle as a dove

7. Like the sun (bright)

8. As cold as ice

 

CORRECT USE OF SIMILES IN SENTENCES

SIMPLE RULES FOR USING SIMILES
