NEWSPAPER – School Children Plant Trees to Protect the Environment
According to The Punch, pupils from different primary schools in Lagos State took part in a tree-planting exercise on Monday.
The event was organised to teach children the importance of protecting the environment. The pupils planted trees around their school compounds and nearby roads. Teachers explained that trees help to provide fresh air, prevent erosion, and make the environment beautiful.
One of the pupils said she was happy to take part in the programme because she wants to help save the earth. The organisers encouraged schools to continue teaching pupils how to care for their surroundings.
The programme ended with advice to pupils to always keep their environment clean and protect nat ure.
