1. Identify different types of marriages.

2. State the advantages and disadvantages of each type.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

RESPONSIBLE PARENTHOOD

Responsible Parenthood is the state of being a parent (father and mother with children) and taking responsibilities as parents.

COMPREHENSION PASSAGE AND DISCUSSION ON – 

Monogamy – Marriage with one opposite sex or partner.

Polygamy – Marriage with two or more opposite or partner.

Single parenthood – A man or woman with child/Ren and without partner.

ADVANTAGES OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF MARRIAGE 

MONOGAMY 

1. Emotional Security

2. Financial Peace

3. Approval from Others

4. Lowered Risk of STDs

POLYGAMY

1. Choice of sex partner

2. Not always alone

SINGLE PARENTHOOD 

1. Fewer argument

DISADVANTAGES OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF MARRIAGE 

MONOGAMY

1. Boredom

3. Less time and attention is given to children.

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Discusses the topic – responsible parenthood and family welfare.

Pupil’s Activities – Lists the name of various types of marriages.

3. Drills pupils in the structures to be met in the passage.

Pupil’s Activities – Give the advantages and disadvantages of marriage.

4. Asks oral questions as he/she discusses the passage. Asks pupils questions about the passage.

Pupil’s Activities – Answer the comprehension exercises that follow.

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.

2. State 2 advantages and disadvantages of each type.
