CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

INTRODUCTION 

Family health is a collection responsibility of each and every members of family to keep safe and healthy. One of the ways to keep safe and healthy is take care of ourselves and surroundings.

 

MEANING OF SANITATION 

Sanitation is the general cleanliness and safe removal of waste (unclean substance) completely from our environment.

Proper waste disposal waste disposal such as human feces, urine and other unclean substance is called sanitation.

After cleaning our surroundings, there is need to clean our our body.

TYPES OF SANITATION

1. PERSONAL SANITATION

Personal sanitation is the total cleanliness of our body and personal belongings on daily and regular basis.

 

2. ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION

Environmental sanitation is total cleanliness of the our surroundings such as homes, schools, and communities.

IMPORTANCE OF SANITATION 

1. It prevents spread of diseases.

2. It keeps our surroundings clean and beautiful.

3. It makes us feel good.

4. It increase life span.

5. It makes our surroundings free from insects and pests.

6. It makes our environment safe for all.

METHODS OF SANITATION 

Sanitation is a safe removal of waste from our surroundings. How the waste is properly removed or disposed is called methods of sanitation or waste disposal.

1. Landfill

3. Recycling
