By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to state food we eat from plants.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Display chart showing food we get from plants for the pupils to identify and state their source.

Pupil’s Activities – Pounded yam from yam, etc.

Teacher’s Remarks – Correct. Food is the items eaten by people and animals in order to live. There are food we get from plants and they are –

FOOD WE GET FROM PLANTS

1. Yam

2. Cassava

3. Corn

4. Maize

5. Millet

6. Beans, etc.

ASSIGNMENT

Find out the reasons we eat food.

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Asks the pupils to mention food we get from plants.

3. Summarizes the lesson on the board.
