By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. explain the meaning of underdeveloped technology.

2. identify the characteristics of underdeveloped technology.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Charts and posters, hoes, cutlasses, vehicles, etc.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

WEEK 2 – INTRODUCTION 

Technology is the use of knowledge to create new devices or tools.

The two forms of technology are underdeveloped and developed technology.

 

MEANING OF UNDERDEVELOPED TECHNOLOGY 

Underdeveloped technology is the technology used in the olden days technology.

Examples of underdeveloped technology are hoes, cutlass, stones grinder, donkey and horse for transportation, etc.

 

CHARACTERISTICS OF UNDERDEVELOPED TECHNOLOGY 

1. Underdeveloped technology are olden days technology.

2. It is also known as low quality technology.

3. It very slow.

4. It consumes more energy.

5. It is cheaper than developed technology.

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Guides the pupils to identify and name examples of underdeveloped technology.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify and name examples of under developed  technology.

3. Guides the pupils to explain and identify the characteristics of underdeveloped technology.

Pupil’s Activities – Explain and identify the characteristics of underdeveloped technology.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
