1. divide a collection of concrete objects into two equal parts and four equal parts.
2. obtain ½ and ¼ of a concrete object.

LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES (5 minutes)
ONE OVER TWO (½) OF A GIVEN COLLECTION
Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Gives a collection of objects like 8 pencils or 4 books for two of pupils (A and B by name) to share among themselves.

Teacher’s activities – Creates an activity that will lead the pupils to identify the number of parts the pencils or books.
Teacher’s remark – Sharing the pencils or books into two is called ½. That’s, the pupils stand for two and each part taken is one.
More Activities, repeat the activities with collections different objects with different pupils until they understand the concept.
