ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
Pupils have previously learned about emergency phone numbers in Nigeria and the security agencies to contact during emergencies.
This lesson builds on that knowledge by teaching pupils about government emergency lines in Lagos, including Lagos State Emergency Service, LASTMA, and the Police emergency line.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTION
Emergencies such as road accidents, crime, fire outbreaks, building collapse, and other dangerous situations can happen at any time.
Government emergency lines help people to quickly contact the appropriate government agency for assistance during emergencies.
In this lesson, pupils will learn about Lagos State Emergency Service, LASTMA and Police emergency numbers, their uses, and the proper ways of using government emergency lines.
MEANING OF GOVERNMENT EMERGENCY LINES
Government emergency lines are special telephone numbers provided by government agencies to help people quickly report emergencies and receive assistance.
IMPORTANT EMERGENCY LINES IN LAGOS
1. 112 – Lagos State Emergency Service – General emergencies requiring urgent assistance
2. 767 – Lagos State Emergency Service – Emergency response in Lagos State
3. 122 – LASTMA – Road traffic emergencies and traffic-related assistance
4. 199 – Nigeria Police Force – Reporting crime, danger, and police emergencies

1. Lagos State Emergency Service
The Lagos State Emergency Service (LASEMA) responds to emergencies such as accidents, building collapse, fire-related incidents, and other situations requiring urgent assistance.
Emergency lines: 112 or 767.
2. LASTMA
LASTMA means Lagos State Traffic Management Authority.
LASTMA helps to manage traffic, respond to traffic-related incidents, and improve safety on Lagos roads.
Emergency/contact line: 122.
3. Nigeria Police Force
The Nigeria Police Force helps to maintain law and order, prevent crime, protect lives and property, and respond to security emergencies.
Emergency line: 199.

Pupils should:

SUMMARY
