CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

Every country needs good citizens who obey rules, respect others, and work together for peace and development. These good attitudes are called national values. When people practise national values such as honesty, respect, discipline, cooperation, and responsibility, families, schools, communities, and the country become better places to live.

In this lesson, pupils will learn why national values are needed, the benefits of national values in society, and how they can practise these values in their daily lives.

LESSON 1 – MEANING OF NATIONAL VALUES

National values are good attitudes and behaviours that guide people to live peacefully, respect others, obey rules, and contribute to the development of their country.

NEED FOR NATIONAL VALUES

National values are needed because they help people to:

1. Live peacefully with one another.

2. Respect parents, teachers, elders, and leaders.

3. Obey rules and laws.

4. Build good character.

5. Promote unity among citizens.

6. Encourage honesty and hard work.

7. Reduce crime and violence.

8. Develop the nation.

LESSON 2 – BENEFITS OF NATIONAL VALUES IN SOCIETY

SUMMARY
