LEARNING OUTCOME
By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
- explain the meaning of ICT gadget.
- identify common gadgets and their uses.
RATIONALE
ICT gadgets are the initials of Information Communication Technology. This is an important part of modern living. ICT gadgets transmit and receive information. We depend on small technology devices that capture information and that also enable people to communicate it to one another quickly and efficiently. They make our life easier and perform specific functions.
LEARNING MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:
1. Sets of flashcards of names of common IT gadgets,
2. Pictures of common IT gadgets, markers,
3. Real Objects (teacher can bring mobile phone and remote control to the class where available).
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE
Examples of common ICT gadgets include remote control, mobile phone, digital camera, DVD player, MP3 player, radio etc. The pupils are not novice to these gadgets. You will be amazed to what the pupils can do with ICT gadgets. This lesson is aimed to enable pupils to understand and appreciate the importance of ICT.
