CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTION
MEANING OF VALUE
Value is the acceptable way of life by a group in a particular society.
It means good behaviour such as:
1. hardworking
2. honesty
3. precision
4. harmony
5. care, etc.
Value also includes people’s beliefs, language, arts and ways of life.
Since the culture of people cannot be separated from the people, it is not possible to remove the value and belief of a people from their culture.
Certain values are therefore placed on the art of people. The value determines how such art and craft and music are practiced in the society and how they are put to use.
