CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES
Teacher’s Activities – Display sample of GSM and Smartphone for the pupils to examine and identify the differences.
Note, you can get GSM or smartphones from your colleagues. Please, monitor the phones properly during the class.
Pupil’s Activities – Response to the teacher’s questions.
Teacher’s remark – GSM and smartphone are both ICT devices with different functions. Smartphones combine functions of GSM and basic functions of computer in one units. Discuss the uses of smartphones with the pupils.

USES OF SMARTPHONES
A smartphone is a mobile phone that has more functions than GSM and other basic functions of computer.
The uses of smartphones are used for –
1. making and receiving calls.
2. sending and receiving messages
3. playing music and watching films.
4. playing games
5. registering contacts
7. performing basic arithmetic.
8. sending and receiving emails, text, photographs and multimedia messages.
9. browsing the Internet using a mobile browser app.
10. creating quality photographs or video.
11. tracking and detect user’s location.
12. setting remainders, currency converter etc.
LESSON 2 – REVISION AND WEEK LESSON ASSESSMENT
As stated in performance objectives or lesson evaluation.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Guides and ask pupils state the uses of smartphones.
Pupil’s Activities – State the uses of smartphones.
3. Summarizes the lesson on the board.
4. Pupil’s Activities – Copy as the teacher writes.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
