CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTION
Everyone wants to live in a neighbourhood that is safe, clean, and healthy. A dirty environment can attract pests and diseases, while unsafe places can cause accidents and injuries. Therefore, everyone must help to keep the neighbourhood clean and avoid dangerous situations.
In this lesson, pupils will learn the meaning of safety and cleanliness, safety precautions, and different ways of keeping the neighbourhood safe, clean, and healthy.
LESSON 1 – MEANING OF SAFETY
Safety means being protected from danger, injury, or harm.
MEANING OF CLEANLINESS
Cleanliness means keeping our body, home, school, and environment clean and free from dirt and waste.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Safety precautions are actions we take to prevent accidents and danger.
Some safety precautions include:
1. Obeying safety rules.
2. Avoiding dangerous places.
3. Not playing on busy roads.
4. Keeping away from exposed electrical wires.
5. Not touching unknown or dangerous objects.
6. Reporting dangers to parents, teachers, or other trusted adults.
