CONTENT OF THE LESSON

MEANING OF DISEASE OR ILLNESS 

Disease means illness or sickness that make people unhealthy.

Illness/sickness is when you are sick or feel unwell.

 

EXAMPLES OF ILLNESS OR DISEASES 

1. Fever

2. Headache

3. Cough

4. Malaria

5. Stooling

6. Chicken pox

7. Polio, etc.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she adopts the following steps.

2. Teacher displays chart showing a doctor or nurse with their patients.

3. Displays allows the children to identify and describe the pictures on the chart.

Children’s Activities – The children identify and describe the duties doctors and nurses.

3. Teacher uses the chart and the children’s relevant responses to introduce the lesson and explains the meaning of diseases with common examples.

Children’s Activities – The children understand the meaning and examples of diseases and appreciate the importance of the doctors and nurses in their lives.

4. Teacher summarizes the lesson by asking the children questions based on the lesson taught and gives the children work to do at home.

Children’s Activities – The children participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding to the questions and do their homework at home.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
