MEANING AND IMPORTANCE OF IMMUNIZATION?
WHAT IS IMMUNIZATION?
Immunizations are vaccines given to children to prevent them from diseases or illness. Immunizations are given to children at birth to 9 months of age.
IMPORTANCE OF IMMUNIZATION
1. It prevents/protects children from diseases and illnesses.
2. It can save your life.
3. It protects you from other.
4. It protects you, your family and your community.
5. It controls diseases and illnesses.
LESSON PRESENTATION
To deliver this lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. Teacher displays chart showing children getting vaccines.
2. Teacher point to the chart and lets the children identify and describe the chart.
Children’s Activities – The children identify and describe immunization activities on the chart.
4. Teacher uses the chart and the children’s relevant responses to introduce the lesson and explain the meaning and benefits of immunization.
Children’s Activities – The children pay attention to the lesson introduction, understand the meaning and benefits of immunization.
5. Teacher summarizes the lesson by asking the children questions based on the lesson taught and gives the children work to do at home.
Children’s Activities – The children participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding to the questions and do their homework at home.
