1. explain the meaning of good punctuality. .

2. state the importance of punctuality.

3. consequences of not being punctual.

The children know the consequences of not being punctual in the school.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

WHAT IS PUNCTUALITY?

Punctuality means always being on time. That’s, not coming late. For example – coming to school at the right time.

 

IMPORTANCE OF PUNCTUALITY 

1. Punctuality builds trust and confidence.

2. Punctuality is a key to success.

3. Punctuality is a sign of respect for others and their time.

4. Punctuality builds excellent students.

5. Punctuality saves time and avoid unnecessary waste of time.

 

CONSEQUENCES OF NOT BEING PUNCTUAL 

The consequence of not being punctual are –

1. It destroys your plan.

2. It is a sign of disrespect.

3. It slows progress.

4. It spoils relationships.

5. It is stressful to come late.

6. It wastes other people time.

7. It leads to miss opportunities.

 

LESSON PRESENTATION

To deliver this lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson based on what he/she taught or what the children have learned.

2. Teacher displays chart showing clock.

3. Teacher lets the children to examine, identify and describe the uses of clock.

Children’s Activities – The children identify and mention the uses of clock. That’s, for checking time.

4. Teacher uses the chart and the children relevant responses to introduce the lesson, explain the meaning and importance of punctuality.

Children’s Activities – The children pay attention to the lesson introduction to understand and appreciate the importance of punctuality.

5. Teacher explains the problems of not keeping to time.

Children’s Activities – The children understand the reasons why they should always keep to time.

7. Teacher summarizes the lesson in a very simple sentence, asks the children questions based on the lesson taught and gives the children work to do at home.

Children’s Activities – The children participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding to the questions and do their homework at home.
