2. mention the duties of a director.

3. mention the functions.

 Some of the students can identify some of the film directors in some the films they have watched.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of flashcards, drama scripts, textbook, note books.

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

MEANING/DEFINITION OF PLAY DIRECTOR

Play director can be defined as the one who supervises the actors(actresses) and directs the action in the production of a play, dance, drama, musical theatre performance, etc.

A play director is also known as theatre director or stage director.

 

WHO IS A PLAY DIRECTOR/DUTIES OF PLAY DIRECTOR

1. He is the boss of the theatre.

 

2. He coordinates all the other aspects of production.

3. He casts and rehearses the actors by blocking and guiding their movements.

4. He interprets the scripts and puts a live drama on stage etc.

5. He coordinates the work and art of every other person and makes everything blend for the production.

6. He is responsible for the production seen on stage, etc.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the students some questions; then, the teacher –

2. Explains who a director is and his/her duties.

 

Student’s Activities – Listen to the teacher’s explanation.

3. Guides students with leadership abilities to try to direct a given play.

Student’s Activities – Participate in the tryouts guided by the teacher.

4. Summarizes the lesson on the board.

Student’s Activities – Copy as the teacher writes.

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
