Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES
Teacher’s activities – Creates activities or tells pupils story on the misuse or wrong use of drugs.
MEANING OF DRUG ABUSE
Drug abuse is the use of drugs without the advice of a qualified doctor or pharmacist. Drug abuse is also known as wrong use of drugs.
When you don’t use drugs without doctor’s advice or you don’t follow the doctor’s advice on a prescribed drugs, you are abusing the drugs. Taking an illegal drugs are also known as drug abuse.
Drug abuse are not limited to tablets, toxic, etc. but include alcohol, palm wine, kolanut, salt, etc. are drugs.
TYPES OF DRUGS COMMONLY ABUSE
The types of drugs that are commonly abuse are as follows –
1. Prescription Drugs
2. Alcohol
3. Heroin
4. Cocaine
5. Inhalants
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Organises class discussion on drug abuse.
Pupil’s Activities – Participate in the discussion.
3. Guides pupil’s to identify types of drugs commonly abuse in their locality.

CONCLUSION
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
