2. Say the meaning of environment.

3. Say the meaning of safety environment.

4. Organize a safety environment.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The children can identify houses, cars, etc.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of physical features of our environment.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION 

Environment is anything that surround us.

The building, animal, car, chair, church, mosque, etc. are part of our environment.

 

MEANING OF SAFETY ENVIRONMENT 

Safety environment is an environment that is safe.

 

A clean environment is a safety environment.

A safety environment is an environment free from unwanted materials.

 

LESSON 2 – REPEAT LESSON 1

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Takes children outside the class.

3. Points to some physical features of our environment.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify and name some of the physical features.

4. Relates all the features identified and name by the children as our environment.

Pupil’s Activities – Point to our environment.

5. Explains the meaning of environment.

 

6. Display chart showing safe and unsafe environment.

7. Uses the chart to explain the meaning of safe environment.

Pupil’s Activities – Listen to the teacher’s explanation.

8. Leads and guide the children to organize a safety environment.

Pupil’s Activities – Follow the teacher’s lead.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
