By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. say their name one after the other.

2. say their names repeatedly, at least 3 times.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

Chart show father, mother and their children.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Says hello to the pupils, tell them your name and ask each of them — what is your name?

For example,

My name is Mrs. Oluwakemi. 

Point one pupil at a time and ask,

  • What is your name?

Pupil’s Expected Response – Segun. Give a cheer.

Teacher’s Activities – Guide Segun to introduce himself as My name is Segun. Guide the rest to do the same.

 

 

Teacher’s Activities – Guides the children to say their names repeatedly for at least 3 times.

For example,

Teacher to pupils

1. Say, My name is Segun

  • Pupil A – My name is Segun.
  • Pupil B – My name is Michael, etc.

Teacher to pupils – Start again for the second.

2. Say, My name is Segun

  • Pupil – My name is Segun.

3. Say, My name is Segun

  • Pupil – My name is Segun.

4. Say, My name is Segun

  • Pupil – My name is Segun.

 

NOTE – This lesson is a two weeks lesson. Repeat the activities until the children are able to say, my name is……..

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Says hello to the pupils, tell them your name and ask each of them — what is your name?

  • Guides pupils to say, my name is………

 

 

Pupil’s Activities – Pupils say their names.

3. Continues to guide the pupils to say their names.

Pupil’s Activities – Repeat after the teacher.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
