CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

Every person has duties to perform at home, in school, in the community, and in the nation. Helping others and performing our duties properly is a way of showing loyalty and responsibility.

For example, a child who helps parents with household duties shows loyalty to the family. A pupil who keeps the school clean and protects school property shows loyalty to the school. A citizen who obeys the law, protects public property, and promotes peace and unity shows loyalty to the nation.

In this lesson, pupils will learn about national service and the loyal services they can render to their family, school, and nation.

LESSON 1 – MEANING OF NATIONAL SERVICE

National service means helping and working for the good of the family, school, community, and nation.

It is one way of showing loyalty and responsibility.

LOYAL SERVICES TO THE FAMILY

Children can show loyalty to their family by:

1. Respecting parents and other family members.

2. Helping with household duties.

3. Caring for younger brothers and sisters.

4. Protecting family property.

5. Being honest with family members.

6. Helping family members when they need support.

7. Keeping the home clean.

8. Showing love and concern to family members.
