6. express their feelings and opinions about their school clearly.

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils have previously learned how to construct simple sentences and write short compositions. In this lesson, they will apply that knowledge to write a composition about their school.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Sample composition on “My School”

2. Pictures of a school, classrooms, library, playground, and pupils

3. Flashcards containing school-related vocabulary

4. Chart showing the structure of a composition

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

WRITING COMPOSITION/ORAL COMPOSITION

1. MY SCHOOL

My school is a wonderful place where children learn and play together. The name of my school is Ajeromi Primary School. It is located in a peaceful environment and has many classrooms.

There are qualified teachers in my school who teach us different subjects. My school has a library, a playground, and a computer room. We also have morning assembly every day before classes begin.

I enjoy learning with my classmates because they are friendly and hardworking. My favourite subjects are English Studies and Mathematics.

I love my school because it helps me to gain knowledge, develop good character, and prepare for the future. I am proud to be a pupil of my school.

2. MY SCHOOL

My school is one of the best schools in Lagos. It is very big, with enough open space for all the pupils to play. I love playing with my classmates during inter-house and inter-school competitions.

My school has a small garden for agriculture. There are many flowers in the garden. These flowers make my school look even more beautiful.

The classrooms in my school are neat and tidy. There are windows for proper ventilation. We have whiteboards and markers in all the classrooms.

Apart from the classrooms, we also have a laboratory and a library where we can borrow and read books on different subjects.

The best thing about my school is that it has many dedicated and hardworking teachers. They teach us subjects such as Mathematics, English Studies, Nigerian Languages, Basic Science and Technology, Prevocational Studies, and Cultural and Creative Arts. They always maintain a happy and friendly learning environment in the school.

I truly love my schoo l very much.

3. MY SCHOOL

My school’s name is Ladi Lak Primary School. It is located in my community. I love my school because it is neat and beautiful.

There are many classrooms in my school. We also have a library, a playground, and an assembly ground. The teachers are kind and hardworking. They teach us different subjects every day.

I am in Primary Four. I enjoy learning English, Mathematics, and Basic Science. I also enjoy playing with my friends during break time.

I obey my teachers and school rules. I am proud of my school because it helps me learn and become a better person.

4. MY SCHOOL

The name of my school is Sunshine Primary School. It is located in a peaceful environment. My school is beautiful and well organized.

There are many classrooms in my school. The classrooms are neat and comfortable for learning. We also have a library, a playground, and a computer room.

The teachers in my school are kind and hardworking. They teach us different subjects and help us to understand our lessons. They also encourage us to be obedient and hardworking.

I am in Primary Four. I enjoy learning with my classmates and taking part in school activities. During break time, I play games with my friends.

I love my school because it provides a good environment for learning. I am proud to be a pupil of my school.

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. The teacher introduces the lesson by asking pupils to talk about their school and mention what they like about it.
