CONTENT OF THE LESSON
READING PASSAGE: THE IMPORTANCE OF READING
Reading is one of the best ways to improve vocabulary. Pupils who read books regularly learn new words and understand their meanings. Reading also helps pupils to speak and write correctly.
There are many kinds of books that encourage vocabulary development. Storybooks, dictionaries, newspapers, magazines, and textbooks all contain useful words. When pupils come across unfamiliar words, they should ask questions or check the dictionary for meanings and pronunciation.
A good vocabulary helps pupils communicate better with others. It also improves performance in subjects such as English Studies, Social Studies, and Science. Pupils with good vocabulary can express their thoughts and ideas clearly.
Teachers and parents should encourage children to read every day. Reading for at least thirty minutes daily can help pupils learn new words and improve their confidence in speaking and writing.
In conclusion, vocabulary development is very important for every pupil. Constant reading and practice will help pupils become better readers, writers, and speakers.
