PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives –
1. explain the meaning of personal security.
2. state the means of personal security.
ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
The pupils can state the importance of cctv camera, security guards, etc. in securing our life and prosperity.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart showing different means of protecting ourselves.
METHOD OF TEACHING
Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION
Security is the state of being free from all dangers or harms at home, in the school or anywhere you are. That’s, feeling safe at all time.
For example, when you at home with the doors or gate are locked and you feel free, safe and relax.
Insecurity is when you are not feeling safe or free from dangers.
MEANING OF PERSONAL SECURITY
Personal security is an extra caution taken to ensure your personal safety at all time.
MEANS OF PERSONAL SECURITY
There are different ways to ensure our personal safety.
1. Fencing your perimeter
2. Using cctv camera
3. Employing the service of professional security.
4. Get a well trained security dog(s)
5. Self defence
6. Join defence
7. Using other security gadgets such as smart light, alarm, lock, etc.
8. Report any suspicious movement.
9. Support all the security forces and agencies.
LESSON 2 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. Revises the previous lesson based the pupil’s related knowledge or understanding.
2. Displays chart showing different means of safeguarding ourselves.
3. Lets pupils to examine the content of the chart.
4. Asks pupils how each of them are using for our personal safety.
Pupil’s Activities – Examine and discuss their importance.
5. Uses the pupil’s respond to introduce and explain the meaning of personal security.
6. Leads a discussion on different means of ensuring our personal safety.
Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in the class discussion.
7. Summarizes each lesson on the board.
Pupil’s Activities – Copy as instructed.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
