PREVIOUS LESSON – CREATING DRAMA – CHARACTERISTICS OF FORM OF DRAMA CREATION (PRIMARY 6)

TOPIC: CREATING DRAMA 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to:

1. name the two basic forms of drama creation.

2. explain the basic forms of drama creation.

3. make-up a drama.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Flash cards.

2. Props

3. Stage

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTION

Drama means to act, to do or to perform.

Drama is also a play written for theater, television, radio, and film.

 

BASIC FORM OF DRAMA 

Scripted (written)

This is the type of drama that is written.

People read and master their roles.

Unscripted (unwritten, verbal, improvised)

This is unwritten drama.

The script are given to the actors and actresses verbally.

The actors and actresses are get the script verbally and practice or dramatise in order to bring out the lesson for understanding.

LESSON TWO – REVISION AND WEEK 7 ASSESSMENT (TEST) 

As stated in performance objectives or lesson evaluation. 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Explains the basic forms of drama creation.

Pupil’s Activities – Listen to the basic forms of drama creation.

3. Writes out the two basic forms of drama on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Copy the two basic forms of drama creation in the notebook.

4. Groups the pupils and present a drama

Pupil’s Activities – Present a drama.

CONCLUSION

• To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
