WEEK 6 – COLOUR – PRIMARY AND SECONDARY COLOURS | RAINBOW COLOURS AND NATURAL COLOURS
COLOUR
Colour is what we see when light falls on an object. Different objects reflect different colours.
Example – A red apple looks red because it reflects red light.
RAINBOW COLOURS
A rainbow is formed when sunlight passes through raindrops and is split into different colours.
The 7 colours of the rainbow (in order) are:
1. Red
2. Orange
3. Yellow
4. Green
5. Blue
6. Indigo
7. Violet

PRIMARY AND SECONDARY COLOURS
PRIMARY COLOURS
Primary colours are colours that cannot be made by mixing other colours.
1. Red
2. Blue
3. Yellow
These are the building blocks for all other colours.
SECONDARY COLOURS
Secondary colours are made by mixing two primary colours:
Red + Blue = Purple (Violet)
Red + Yellow = Orange
Blue + Yellow = Green

4. Easily available – It can be obtained from plants, soil, fruits, and flowers
5. Unique shades – They often have soft, earthy tones rather than very bright artificial colours
