CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Display chart of people wearing face mask and ask the pupils, why they are wearing face masks.

Pupil’s response – They are wearing face mask because of COVID-19.

Teacher’s remark – COVID-19 virus is a recent air borne diseases that causes illness in humans. Give a great cheer for the quick response to question. Discuss the meaning of air borne diseases.

MEANING OF AIR BORNE DISEASES 

Air borne diseases are diseases that are spread through air.

Air borne diseases are communicable diseases through air.

These diseases are bacteria, fungi, or viruses.

EXAMPLES OF AIR BORNE DISEASES

Some examples of airborne diseases include –

1. Coronavirus

2. Flu

3. Tuberculosis

4. Measles

5. Chickenpox, etc.

LESSON 2 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES

Teacher’s Activities – Coronavirus is a deadly and communicable  respiratory diseases that causes illness in humans. For now, there is no cure. Ask the pupils, how can we prevent the spread of coronavirus diseases.

Pupil’s response – State ways of preventing coronavirus diseases.

Teacher’s remark – Give a great cheer for quick response to question. Note the pupil’s points on the board.

WAY OF PREVENTING AIR BORNE DISEASES

1. Avoid close distance.

2. Stay home when you are sick.

3. Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze.

4. Wash your hands after sneeze.

5. Avoid touching your face, especially your eyes, nose and mouth.

7. No shaking, no hugging.

8. Use face mask.

9. Wash your hands regularly.

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Displays chart showing sick people and people wearing faces masks. Asks pupils to describe the conditions of the sick people and state why other are wearing face masks.

Pupil’s Activities – Observe the chart and describe.

3. Based on pupil’s explanation in 1, explains air borne diseases.

Pupil’s Activities – Listen to the teacher’s explanation.

4. State the examples of air borne diseases.

Pupil’s Activities – Mention some of the air borne diseases.

5. Discusses the ways of preventing air borne diseases.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate in the class discussion.
