WEEK 2 – ADOBE PHOTOSHOP AND TOOLBAR

MEANING OF ADOBE PHOTOSHOP

Adobe Photoshop is a computer application (software) used to edit pictures, draw images, design posters, and improve photos on the computer.

It helps us to:

1. Draw and paint pictures

2. Edit photographs

3. Design cards, posters, and flyers

4. Change colours and shapes of images

 

THE PHOTOSHOP TOOLBAR

The toolbar is found at the left side of the Photoshop window. It contains tools used for drawing, selecting, colouring, and editing pictures.

Common Tools on the Photoshop Toolbar as follows:

1. Move Tool is used to move pictures or objects from one place to another.

2. Marquee Tool is used to select shapes like rectangles or circles.

3. Lasso Tool is used to select freehand or irregular shapes.

4. Crop Tool is used to cut off unwanted parts of a picture.

5. Brush Tool is used to paint or draw with different colours.

6. Pencil Tool is used to draw thin lines like using a pencil.

7. Eraser Tool is used to remove or clean mistakes in a picture.

8. Paint Bucket Tool is used to fill an area with colour.

9. Text Tool is used to type words or letters on an image.

10. Shape Tool is used to draw shapes like squares, circles, and triangles.

11. Zoom Tool is used to increase or reduce the size of the image on the screen.

12. Hand Tool is used to move the picture around the screen without changing it.
