CONTENT OF THE LESSON

READING PASSAGE: THE IMPORTANCE OF NATURE

Nature refers to everything that exists in the environment naturally, such as plants, animals, rivers, mountains, forests, air, and water. Nature is very important because it supports life on earth.

Plants provide us with oxygen, food, medicine, and shelter. Animals also play important roles in maintaining the balance of nature. Rivers, lakes, and rainfall supply us with water for drinking, farming, and other daily activities.

Nature helps to keep the environment clean and healthy. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen into the atmosphere. They also help to prevent soil erosion and flooding. Forests provide homes for many animals and birds.

Human beings depend on nature for survival. Farmers rely on fertile soil and rainfall to grow crops. Many industries use natural resources to produce goods and services. Nature also provides beautiful scenery that people enjoy during recreation and tourism.

However, nature can be harmed by activities such as deforestation, pollution, and bush burning. Therefore, everyone should help to protect the environment by planting trees, disposing of waste properly, and conserving natural resources.

In conclusion, nature is a valuable gift that supports life and improves our well-being. We must protect and preserve it for future generations.
