Everyone wants to be safe from danger and harm. Children may face dangers at home, in school, on the road, or in the community.

Personal security means protecting oneself from danger, harm, abuse, accidents, and other threats.

Personal security is important because it helps to protect lives, prevent accidents, avoid crime and abuse, protect property, and promote peace and safety.

In this lesson, pupils will learn about the reasons for personal security and the importance of staying safe.

LESSON 1 – MEANING OF PERSONAL SECURITY

Personal security means protecting oneself from danger, harm, abuse, accidents, and other threats.

REASONS FOR PERSONAL SECURITY

Personal security is important for the following reasons:
