GIVING AN WITNESS ACCOUNT/EVENT

1. A Fire Outbreak

Last Sunday evening, I witnessed a fire outbreak in our neighbourhood. The fire started in a small shop beside the road because of an electrical fault. Thick smoke filled the air, and people quickly ran out of their houses in fear.

Some neighbours tried to put out the fire with buckets of water while others called the fire service. After a few minutes, the firefighters arrived with their truck and worked hard to stop the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.

Many goods in the shop were destroyed by the fire, but no life was lost. The event taught everyone the importance of handling electrical appliances carefully and keeping fire safety materials nearby.

2. A Road Accident

Last Monday morning, I witnessed a road accident near our school gate. A bus was moving at high speed when the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle. The bus collided with a motorcycle crossing the road.

People nearby quickly rushed to help the injured victims. Some passers-by called an ambulance while others helped to control the traffic. The injured people were later taken to the hospital for treatment.

The police arrived shortly after and investigated the cause of the accident. The event taught everyone the importance of careful driving and obeying traffic rules.

3. A School Sports Event

Last Friday, I witnessed a school sports event in my school. The event took place on the school field and many pupils, teachers, parents, and visitors attended the programme.

The sports event began with a march past by the different houses. After that, pupils participated in several activities such as relay race, football, sack race, and long jump. Everyone cheered loudly as the competitors tried their best to win.

At the end of the competition, the Blue House won the overall trophy. The principal presented medals and prizes to the winners. The event was exciting and taught us the importance of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

4. A Birthday Party

Last Saturday, I attended a birthday party organized for my friend at his house. The house was beautifully decorated with balloons, ribbons, and colourful lights. Many friends, neighbours, and family members were present at the party.

The celebration began with prayers and the cutting of the birthday cake. After that, food and drinks were served to the guests. We also played games, danced to music, and took many photographs together.

Everyone was happy and excited throughout the party. At the end of the celebration, the celebrant thanked the guests for attending. The event was enjoyable and memorable.

5. A Cultural Festival

Last month, I witnessed a cultural festival in my community. The event took place at the town square, and many people from different villages attended the celebration dressed in colourful traditional clothes.

The festival began with traditional music and dancing. Different cultural groups displayed their dances, songs, and local foods. There were also drummers and masquerades entertaining the crowd. People cheered loudly as the performances continued.

Community leaders gave speeches on the importance of preserving our culture and traditions. At the end of the festival, prizes were given to the best cultural group. The event was interesting and taught everyone the value of unity and cultural heritage.
