WEEK 11 – SUMMARY

MEANING OF SECURITY MANAGEMENT 

Security management is the planning and actions taken to protect people, property, and information from danger or harm. It helps to keep people safe at home, school, and in the society.

 

TYPES OF SECURITY MANAGEMENT 

1. Personal Security – Protecting oneself (e.g. avoiding strangers).

2. Home Security – Protecting the house (e.g. locking doors and windows).

3. School Security – Protecting pupils, teachers, and school property.

4. Community Security – Keeping the neighbourhood safe (e.g. neighbourhood watch).

5. Physical Security – Use of fences, gates, locks, and burglar proof.

6. Technological Security – Use of CCTV cameras, alarms, and phones.

 

IMPORTANCE OF SECURITY MANAGEMENT

1. It protects lives and property.

2. It prevents crime and accidents.

3. It brings peace and order.

4. It helps people feel safe.

5. It encourages learning and development.

 

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES IN SECURITY MANAGEMENT 

Precautionary measures are steps taken to prevent danger before it happens. For examples:
