PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives –
1. introduce themselves.
2. tell their age.
ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
The children can say their name.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of flash card showing each pupil name and age.
METHOD OF TEACHING
Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – NAME, AGE AND CLASS
Teacher’s Activities – Says hello to the pupils, tell them your name and ask each of them — what is your name?
For example,
My name is Mrs. Oluwakemi.
Point one pupil at a time and ask,
- What is your name?
Pupil’s Expected Respond – Segun. Give a cheer.
Teacher’s Activities – Guide Segun to introduce himself as My name is Segun. Guide the rest to do the same.
Further Expression – Age and Class
Teacher’s Activities – Based on their records, guide the children to introduce themselves as –
- Name – My name is Segun.
- Age – I am 3 years old.
- Class – I’m in Nursery 1.
LESSON 2 – CLASS EXPRESSION
Teacher’s Activities – Displays or decorates the class in a such way that the children will be able to talk about their new class.
Before the children’s activities, be sure each of them starts by introducing his/herself as demonstrated in Lesson 1.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Says hello to the children.
3. Guides them to respond by saying hello or hi.
4. Says hello again.
Pupil’s Activities – Listen to the teacher and say hello or hi.
5. Introduces yourself, saying my name is _______.
6. Point to a child and ask, what is your name.
Pupil’s Activities – Say his/her name.
Pupil’s Activities – Guides each child to express his/her name.
7. Guides the children to express themselves in term of name, age and class. For example – my name is _______, I am _______ years old, I’m in nursery 1.
Pupil’s Activities – Express themselves in term of name, age and class.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.

Ask pupils to:
