CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES

Teacher’s Activities – Get fruits that can be easily divided into two equal parts. Pair the children and give each pair a fruit. Tell the children that each fruit be share among their pair. Cut the fruit and let them know that each part is half.

Note – Let the children take the fruits. 

Pupil’s Activities – Recognise their part as half.

 

SIMPLE MEANING OF FRACTION

Teacher’s Activities – Get a cardboard circle, carefully engage the children in activities that involve division of the objects into two (2).

Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in the activities.

Teacher’s Activities – Guide the children to identify each part of ½.

LESSON 3 – TRACE, WRITE AND COLOUR ½

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Engage the children to trace, write and colour ½.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Gives simple meaning of fraction using song or rhyme.
