LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives –
1. identify new words and pronounce them correctly.
2. recognize new words meaning.
3. demonstrate the meaning of the new words.
4. use the new words in sentences.
ENTRY BEHAVIOR
Most of the pupils can spell and pronounce the new words correctly.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of course book, chart containing new words and dictionary.
METHOD OF TEACHING
Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Displays chart showing selected new words.
3. Lets the pupils spell each word on the chart correctly.
Pupil’s Activities – Spell each of the word on the chart correctly.
4. Reads and let the pupils in groups or pairs repeat after you.
5. Lets the find the new words in the passage.
Pupil’s Activities – Identify the new words in the passage.
6. Organizes the pupils in groups or pair to study and deduce the contextual meaning of the unfamiliar words.
Pupil’s Activities – Deduce the contextual meaning of the unfamiliar words.
7. In groups or pairs, guide the pupils to find the meaning of the new words in the dictionary.
Pupil’s Activities – Find the meaning of the new words in the dictionary.
8. Guides pupils to pronounce the new words by breaking them into sound.
Pupil’s Activities – Follow the teacher’s guide to break new words into sound and pronounce correctly.
9. Lets the pupils use the new words in sentences.
10. Writes the words and their meanings on the board.
Pupil’s Activities – Write and explain the meaning of the new words.
11. Summarizes the lesson on the board.
Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in the summary of the lesson.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
