By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives – state reasons why we study Civic Education.

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTION
MEANING OF CIVIC EDUCATION
Civic Education helps us to understand our societal values, and practise them, in order to have a better society.
WHY WE STUDY CIVIC EDUCATION
1. For public awareness
2. To understand the values of our society such as honesty, cooperation, self reliance, unity, tolerance, love, peace, humility.
3. To equip young people to become leaders in future.
4. To equip us to serve our country.
6. To have attitude of respect, obedience to rulers, traffic signs, etc.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Leads a discussion on why we study Civic Education.
Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in the class discussion.
3. Summarizes on the lesson on the board.
Pupil’s Activities – Copy as instructed.
CONCLUSION
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson – importance of Civic Education.
