ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

This lesson builds on that knowledge by helping pupils to organize their ideas into a descriptive essay about their environment, using correct sentence structure and appropriate vocabulary.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

A descriptive essay is a type of writing that describes a person, place, or thing in detail so that the reader can clearly imagine it.

An environment is everything around us, such as houses, roads, schools, trees, shops, and people living in a place.

Importance of the Lesson

This lesson helps pupils to:

  • Describe their surroundings clearly.
  • Develop writing skills.
  • Use correct sentence structure.
  • Improve vocabulary.
  • Organize ideas in paragraphs.

In this lesson, pupils will learn how to write a simple descriptive essay about their environment, using clear and correct English sentences.

My Environment 1

My environment is a beautiful and peaceful place. It is clean and well organized. There are many houses, shops, schools, and roads in my area.

The streets are kept clean, and people dispose of waste properly. There are trees and flowers around some houses, making the environment attractive.

My school is located in this environment. The school compound is neat and conducive for learning. The people in my environment are friendly and hardworking.

I love my environment because it is safe, clean, and comfortable. Everyone works together to keep it tidy and peaceful.

My Environment 2

My environment is a small but lively community. It is a place where people live peacefully and carry out their daily activities.

There are houses, schools, churches, and shops in my environment. The roads are fairly good, and people move freely from one place to another. Traders sell different goods in the market.

The environment is usually busy in the morning and evening. Children go to school while adults go to work. People are friendly and always greet one another.

There are also trees that provide shade and make the area beautiful. However, people are advised to keep the environment clean by disposing waste properly.

I like my environment because it is safe, friendly, and comfortable to live in.
