PRIMARY 4

THEME: BASIC COMPUTER OPERATION 

PREVIOUS LESSON – PRINTER 

TOPIC – SYSTEM UNIT – EXTERNAL FEATURES 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

  1. Identify system unit.
  2. List external features of a system unit.
  3. State the uses of each of these features.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

  1. Functional computer systems.
  2. Different types of system units.
  3. Chart shows different parts of system unit.

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

Guides the pupils to use each of these features –

  1. Power On/Off button
  2. Preset button

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
  1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
  2. Asks the pupils, what parts of computer system is this?
  3. Pupil’s Activities – Answer the teacher’s question.
  4. Guides them to compare and identify common features of different system units.
  5. Pupil’s Activities – Compare and identify common features of different system units.
  6. Guides pupils to operate each of the front features of system unit.
  7. Pupil’s Activities – Operate each of the front features of system unit.

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
