PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. identify some local fruit crops.

2. state the uses of fruit crops.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can state uses of fruit crops.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Samples of fruits – pawpaw, banana, pineapple, etc.

 

 

2. Chart of fruit trees –  orange, mango, guava, banana, etc.

 

METHOD OF TEACHING 

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Lead the pupils to discuss and state the uses of fruit crops.

Pupil’s Activities – Active participation in the class discussion.

Teacher’s Activities – Listen the pupils, comment and note the points of discussion on the board.

 

USES OF FRUITS CROPS 

A fruit crops are the part of flowering plants that produce the seeds as food. For examples, orange, banana, etc.

The uses of fruit crops are –

 

 

1. They supply vitamins and mineral to the body.

2. They aid food digestion.

3. They protect body and prevent body from ill – health.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Asks pupils to state the uses of fruit crops.

Pupil’s Activities – State the uses of fruit crops.

3. Summarizes the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Copy as the teacher writes.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
