INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES
Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Displays a chart showing the logo some political parties for the pupils to identify and discuss with their peers and teachers.
MEANING OF DEMOCRATIC PRACTICES
Democratic practices are different things that happen everyday in our communities.
In order for these routine activities to become public, citizens have to be involved, informed, engaged, empowered, and assertive.
The government must be inclusive, transparent, accountable, and responsive.
MEANING OF DEMOCRACY
Democracy is the voice and will of the people.
That’s, they decide how government is run by voting.
The government is designed for the people and by the people.
BENEFITS OF DEMOCRACY
The benefits of democracy and good governance include –
1. Political participation
2. Human rights
3. Access to justice
4. A good education
5. An improved quality of life
6. An healthy environment
7. Personal and collective security
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Discuss the meaning of democratic practices.
