PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to mention the dangers of unclean water.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can identify and state the dangers of drinking or using unclean water.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of sample or chart showing unclean water.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

ACTIVITY 1 – CLEAN AND UNCLEAN WATER 

Teacher’s Activities – Display samples of clean and unclean water for the pupils to identify the difference.

Pupil’s Activities – This water is good and safe for drinking while the other is not safe drinking or for any uses.

 

 

Teacher’s Remarks – Correct. Good and clean water are safe for any uses. Bad and unclean water are not safe for any uses. Note, some water can be clean and may not be safe especially for drinking and cooking.

Today, we are going to learn the danger of using bad or unclean water.  Teacher displays chart showing different diseases caused by unclean water for the pupils to describe.

 

DANGERS OF UNCLEAN WATER 

Unclean water is also known as polluted water.

It is unsafe to use unclean for anything.

Unclean water can transmit diseases such as –

1. Diarrhoea

2. Cholera

3. Dysentery

4. Typhoid

5. Polio

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

1. Provides pupils with samples of clean and unclean water.

 

 

2. Uses simple to guide pupils to state the danger of using unclean water.

Pupil’s Activities – Observe and state the dangers of using unclean water.

4. Summarizes the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Copy as the teacher writes.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
